If you don't mind buying a new Shark every time you want to steam clean things around your house then go for it.

I used the shark steamer once. It worked nicely. However, when I brought it out to use it for the second time on border removal about 9 months later it didn't work at all. The trigger mechanism didn't work; I got no steam. I got nothing. I spent way too much money to get only one use out of this product.

If you chose to buy this product, good luck, and consider yourself warned.

I am truly stunned by all of the negative reviews! I have owned this steamer for at least 3 years and I love it! I just went online today to order one as a gift for a friend who borrowed mine and also loved it. Just for fun I was checking reviews between models to see if there was something better, and I was truly shocked, and decided to add my 2 cents. I have followed all of the manufacturers instructions and I have had years of happy, successful cleaning experiences. I do my floors, my grout, my windows, my glass block, walk-in (very large) shower. This product has MORE than paid for itself in savings of cleaning products, ease of use, and most importantly, the time it takes to get the jobs done!

This product to me is like a hammer to a carpenter. I feel like taking it everywhere I go. I am puzzled there are so many bad reviews. Are you expecting the old grease or crud just to vanish when you steam it? Sometimes you must use a little effort from the end of your arm after Shark steaming. It does work!.....making some things look new.

THIS PRODUCT IS DEFECTIVE. Do not buy the Shark Portable Steamer under any circumstances. The trigger mechanism is defective and fails after a few uses, causing all of the steam to leak out uncontrollably, which is also exposes the user to a possible steam burn. Euro-Pro Operating LLC does not stand behind its products. [...] I will not buy Shark Products or do business with Euro-Pro Operating LLC ever again.

I had a schunci before this one and hated it. The place the steam came out was directly attached to the canister so you had to monuver the canister to where you wanted the steam in order to use it.It was heavy when it was filled with water. I then saw a advertisement for the shark. this is actually the second machine from shark. The first one had the trigger problems that some of the other reviewers have had, however; The customer service at shark was wonderful and replaced it no questions asked. I have had the second one for 2 years and use it wll the time. It works wonderful to get all the had to reach spots. I also have two young boys and use it to get all the grime off everything from the highchair to the floor. I LOVE IT!!!

I am the manager for cleaning departments at two malls where I live and we use one of these at work. It gets dirt out of places that we truly thought was never going to come out. NEVER!! It takes a bit to know what you are doing. You have to think logically, dirt and grime that has been there forever, doesn't necessarily come clean with one quick pass. And scrubbing attachments are a wonderful thing!
But overall .. . FABULOUS!

I have purchased two of these. The first one I thought was just a lemon, but the second one proved the product is a waste of money. I got 2 uses out of both of them. The first one I bought to clean my grout lines and remove wall paper border. It did both jobs well. On my third use was when the nozzle kept blowing off the hose. By then it was out of warranty. The second one I purchased was also for cleaning my grout lines, which I do every six months to re-apply sealer to them. On the 3rd use the nozzle starting blowing the hose off and the warranty was expired.

When it worked it was great. I love steam cleaning, but this machine broke after 3 uses. I didn't have my receipt to return it to Target, and when I tried to call the phone number that came with the literature, the number had been disconnected! Wasted money!

I was given this as Christmas gift a couple of years ago. I really loved it, even though it is bulky and a bit hard to store in a small home. It really did clean all the hard to reach areas and just worked wonderful at first. After the first year of having it the steam started to come out of the handle and burning my hand. I cleaned it the way the instructions said to so I could make sure the nozzle was not clogged, but it still does it. I also tried to wrap a towel around the handle but it comes through the towel and then the towel becomes really hot. I really did like the way it cleaned but because of this problem I would not buy another Euro Pro steamer.
